Airline Launch of the Year: Riyadh Air

A new chapter in Saudi aviation – with elegance in the skies and innovation on the ground.
Riyadh Air is preparing for takeoff, and it’s already redefining what the future of flying looks like. As Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, everything about it – from aircraft design to guest experience – reflects a bold, world-class vision and an unmistakable confidence in becoming one of the leading airlines of our time.
Riyadh Air’s fleet will feature a total of 182 new-generation aircraft, including 50 Airbus A350-1000s, 60 A321neos, and 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
Inside, the experience is shaped around serenity, privacy, and sensory calm. The Business Elite and Business cabins offer fully enclosed suites that convert into lie-flat beds, complete with intuitive lighting and acoustic design for uninterrupted rest.
Passengers will also enjoy the largest windows in commercial aviation, bathing the cabin in natural light and offering panoramic views above the clouds. Advanced noise-control systems ensure a tranquil environment – an essential foundation for restorative, long-haul sleep.
By 2030, Riyadh Air aims to connect travelers to over 100 destinations worldwide, positioning Riyadh as a true global hub at the crossroads of East and West.
On the ground, Riyadh Air will welcome passengers into its first premium Hafawa Lounge at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh – a 2000-square-meter sanctuary designed by Yabu Pushelberg, the globally acclaimed studio behind some of the world’s most sophisticated interiors.
Accommodating around 370 guests, the lounge merges Saudi generosity and design heritage with a forward-thinking technological edge. Multiple themed areas and Private Rooms allow travelers to transition smoothly from the rhythm of the city to the calm of the journey ahead.
In parallel, a strategic partnership with Uber will simplify door-to-door travel within Saudi Arabia and beyond – ensuring every stage of the journey feels effortless.
Fulfilling its commitment to commence operations, Riyadh Air will officially launch daily flights from Riyadh to London Heathrow (LHR) beginning October 26, operated by its Boeing 787-9 “Jamila.” Dubai will join the network soon after, marking the start of the airline’s rapid international rollout.
Alongside its debut routes, Riyadh Air will introduce Sfeer, an innovative loyalty program that blends community engagement with shared rewards. Members will be able to share points with family and friends, enhancing status collectively – a fresh, inclusive take on what loyalty means today.
Riyadh Air embodies the new rhythm of luxury travel – and we can’t wait to experience it ourselves.
